Management Partnership Program (LMPP) Labour Management Partnerships Program (LMPP)Summary: The LMPP is designed to foster and improve labour-management by supporting joint labour-management initiatives. LLPP allows labour and management to experiment with new ideas through pilot projects that create tangible results that can be utilized by other labour and business organizations. Eligibility Criteria: Unions and employers in federally regulated workplaces. Labour-only or employer-only applicants may be accepted. Duration: 24 months. 24 months Click here for more information on LMPP Labour Market Partnerships (LLMP)Summary: The objective of the Local Labour Market Partnership Program is to work with partners to help communities, employers and workers improve their capacity to address human resource requirements and to implement labour force adjustments. Eligibility Criteria: Individuals do not receive services directly from an LLMP agreement. Duration: Projects may be approved up to a maximum of three years. Renewals are made on the basis of performance and results achieved. Financial Parameters: Funding may be provided to cover such overhead costs as wages and employment related costs. Maximum of $1 million per year, assistance provided for capital costs are on a cost-shared basis. Click here for more information on LLMP Targeted Wage SubsidiesSummary: Targeted Wage Subsidies assist individuals to prepare for, obtain and maintain employment. These subsidies allow employers to hire individuals by offering temporary wage subsidies. Eligibility Criteria: Businesses, organizations, individuals, public health and educational institutions, municipal governments and band/tribe councils. Provincial government departments and agencies may receive funding if specified in a federal-provincial/territorial agreement; MOU or specifically approved by the Minister of Human Resource Development Canada. Duration: Agreements may be approved for a period of up to 78 weeks. Financial Parameters: The subsidy will not exceed 60% of total wages paid to the individuals for the period of the agreement. Click here for more information on Targeted Wage Subsidies Job Creation Partnerships (JCP)Summary: Job Creation Partnerships were created to assist individuals to prepare for, obtain and maintain employment. JCP’s provide EI (employment insurance) eligible persons with work experience on projects developed in partnership with the community. Eligibility Criteria: Businesses, organizations, individuals, public health and educational institutions, municipal governments and band/tribal councils. Provincial government department and agencies are eligible if specified in a federal-provincial/territorial agreement MOU, or specifically approved by the Minister of Human Resource Development Canada. Duration: Projects may be approved for a period of 52 weeks. Financial Parameters: Funding may be provided to cover such overhead costs as wages and employment related costs. Funding may be provided for capital costs to a maximum of$1 million per year. Assistance provided for capital costs must be on a cost shared basis. Click here for more information on Job Creation Partnerships - JCP Sector Council ProgramSummary: The goal of Sectoral Partnerships Initiatives is to define and address common labour market challenges by developing sectoral partnerships. Sectoral Partnerships Initiatives offer information, expertise and funding to the private sector. Eligibility Criteria: Potential partners must be national in scope, include all key stakeholders and address labour market, human resource and/or skills issues. Duration: Individual projects can be a maximum of three calendar years, spanning a number of different fiscal years. Financial Parameters: Eligible cost categories include wages, overhead costs, and professional fees. Click here for more information on Sectoral Partnerships Initiative Youth Internship CanadaSummary: Youth Internship Canada helps young people make a successful transition to the workforce by providing wage subsidies to employers who create work experience that allow youths to acquire knowledge and experience. Eligibility Criteria: Businesses, organizations, public health and educational institutions, band/tribal councils, municipal governments and eligible federal and comparable provincial crown corporations. Duration: 52 weeks or less Financial Parameters: Overhead costs may include licenses, permits, bank charges, utilities, insurance, rental of premises, audits, assessments and evaluations. Click here for more information on Youth Internship Canada Science and Technology InternshipsSummary: The Science and Technology Internships program is a sectoral initiative between the federal governments and national sector councils. The objective of the program is to assist youth; through a wage subsidy, by integrating science and technology into their long-term career/job plan by offering meaningful work experiences. Eligibility Criteria: Only National Sector Councils are eligible for funding. Duration: Individual projects can be for a minimum of 6 months to a maximum of one year. Financial Parameters: A maximum of $10,000 per participant. Employers contribute $2 for every Human Resource Development Canada dollar invested in wage subsidies. Click here for more information on Science and Technology Internships Self Employment InitiativesSummary: The self employment program is designed to assist individuals to prepare for, obtain and maintain employment. The program provides EI (employment insurance) eligible individuals with financial support, planning assistance and mentoring. Eligibility Criteria: Unemployed individuals pursuant to the Employment Insurance Act. Duration: Maximum duration of support is 52 weeks. Financial Parameters: Individuals currently on an active Employment Insurance claim may continue to receive their regular EI benefits. Persons no longer receiving Employment Insurance will have to negotiate a locally determined flat rate.
