Household Hazardous Waste Day

The Town of Gander will be hosting its Annual Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday, September 23, 2017, from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., at the Elizabeth Drive – Town Square Parking Lot.

Residents are reminded of the following Year-round Disposal Services:

  1. McCurdy Drive Waste Transfer Station accepts bulk materials on selected Saturdays throughout the year.
  2. Metals may be dropped off at Central Metals (1983) Ltd. during normal business hours.
  3. Good Used Furniture will be collected by Evangel Pentecostal Church. To arrange pick-up please call 256-4762.
  4. Grass and Leaves may be dropped at the community composting site located at 34 McCurdy Drive. Debris must be removed from bags or containers.
  5. Trees and Branches may be dropped at the chipping site adjacent to the Magee Road Treatment Plant.
  6. Computers and peripherals including printers and monitors, along with home or personal audio/video systems and non-cellular phones, may be dropped off at Scotia Recycling, Green Depot, located on Garrett Drive.
  7. Paint may be dropped off at a designated paint recycling location; Aylwards Home Hardware or Scotia Recycling.
