REPORT POT HOLES

Posted: February 21, 2008

Residents are advised that with the recent fluctuations in temperature, water is sometimes running on our streets and sidewalks, ground is softening and asphalt is breaking apart. Public Works crews are working around the clock patching potholes, clearing ice from catch basins and thawing hydrants and storm lines, and sidewalks are being sanded daily as required.

Residents who may notice a pot hole are asked to notify the Municipal Works Department at 651-5938. Drivers are asked to exercise caution when driving through areas of accumulated water because of the possibility of concealed pot holes and to avoid splashing pedestrians who may be walking nearby.

If you require any more information please contact:

Residents are urged to protect garbage placed for curbside collection from birds and animals. Suggested methods are:

• Cover garbage with a piece of carpet, tarp, or similar material which will be left for re-use.
• Use garbage cans.
• Use “Garbage Nets” available for purchase at the Town Hall (Cost $ 28.75 ea.)

Residents are reminded that it is the homeowner’s responsibility to clean up any garbage remaining after curbside collection.

Complete garbage regulations are available at the Municipal Works Department or as a PDF by clicking here.
