Beaverwood and Gander Bay Road Sewage Treatment Plants
(Sewer Maintenance, Sewage Pumping Stations and Sewage Treatment)
The Sewage section operates and maintains two Sewage Treatment Plants,
twelve Sewage Lift Stations and 56 kilometres of sewers, including manholes.
One Sewage Treatment Plant located on Gander Bay Road, discharges into
a stream flowing north through a series of ponds and streams leading into
Gander River. Beaverwood Sewage Treatment Plant is located on Navy Road,
and discharges treated effluent into a stream flowing east through a series
of steadies and bogs which flows into Soulis Pond, and eventually empties
into Gander Lake at a point 20 kilometres east of our pumphouse intake.
