Water Line Flushing Program

The Town of Gander is advising residents that the systematic flushing of all main water lines will start Sept 05, 2023, and will continue until late November. This will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

During this period, residents may experience fluctuating water pressure, discoloration, or debris in the water lines. If this occurs, run the water until clear, then remove faucet aerators and carefully flush any debris from screens and washers, ensuring that all parts are reassembled in the correct order and orientation.

It is not recommended to wash laundry between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. when water main flushing is active in your area, to avoid the possibility of staining.

The purpose of this flushing is to provide a higher quality of water.
