DISCRETIONARY NOTICE - 9 Rickenbacker Road

Notice is hereby given that Council has received an application from Loretta’s Flower World to operate an online-based flower/gift basket business from 9 Rickenbacker Road. Note: The applicant indicates that there will be no customer/client visitation to the residence with orders received online/telephone with product delivered off site. 

It is noted that home occupation is permitted as a “discretionary use” for the zone in which this property is located.

VARIANCE FROM REGULATIONS - 400 Gander Bay Road

Notice is hereby given that the Town Council of Gander has received an application to construct a garage at the above noted address which will exceed the total permitted height for accessory buildings in a residential zone. The proposal is an accessory building with a total height of 6.05 metres.

It is noted that this property is situated in a Residential Rural zone which limits maximum accessory building height to 5.50 metres. The Town Council of Gander, at their discretion, may vary their regulations to a maximum of 10%.

Anyone wishing to make representation on this matter must do so in writing and the representation must be received by the Engineering Department, Town of Gander, no later than 12:00 noon on Wednesday June 17, 2026.

Water Shut-Off: Armstrong Blvd & Gilmore Pl - June 10, 2026

Please be advised that there will be a water shut-off affecting 30-150 Armstrong Blvd, 5-44 Gilmore Pl, 265 & 275 Airport Blvd & 50 Wiley Post St  tomorrow, June 10, from 3:00pm - 7:00pm for hydrant installation.

Waste Transfer Station - June 13th, 2026

The Town of Gander is inviting expression of interest from local organizations to operate bar services and ticket sales during the 2026 Festival of Flight events.

Submissions are due Monday, June 15th at 2:00 PM to tenders@gander.ca 

Clean Up Week has officially ended, and crews are no longer collecting curbside clean up materials.

Residents are asked to remove any remaining items from the curb.

Additional waste transfer station dates are scheduled for June 13 and July 11. Work is also ongoing to expand automated services at the transfer station to provide more accessible disposal options in the future.
