The Town of Gander advises residents that the systematic flushing of all main water lines will begin tomorrow September 9 continuing until late October. Flushing operations take place daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
During this period, residents may experience fluctuating water pressure, discoloured water, or debris in the water lines. If this occurs, run the water until it clears, then remove faucet aerators and carefully flush any debris from screens and washers, ensuring all parts are reassembled in the correct order and orientation.
Residents are advised to avoid washing laundry between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. while water main flushing is active in their area to prevent possible staining.
The purpose of this flushing program is to help maintain and improve water quality.
