Rescheduled: Crosswalk Painting – Lindbergh Rd
The crosswalk painting at the Lindbergh/Airport intersection has been rescheduled to tomorrow, September 18.
The Lindbergh entrance near Cohen’s will now be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow to allow this work to take place.
Residents are asked to use an alternate route during this time.

The Waste Transfer Station on McCurdy Drive (next to the Public Works Depot) will be open on Saturday, September 13, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
That same day is also Household Hazardous Waste Day. If you've got old paint, cleaners, or other items that can't go in the regular garbage, you can drop them off safely and for free, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Steele Community Centre parking lot.

Road Closures
On Sunday, September 14, 2025, sections of road in Gander (see attached map) will be closed to vehicles and pedestrian traffic during the Targa Newfoundland rally stage. Please plan ahead and avoid the area during this time.
Spectator Safety Tips
Stand at least 15 metres from the road.
Never stand on the outside of a turn.
Choose high ground.
Never stand behind red tape.
Always stand – do not sit down.
Remind others to follow safety rules.
