Traffic Advisory: Memorial Drive - Saturday, March 21st, 2026

Please be advised that work will take place at 111 Memorial Drive tomorrow March, 21st from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane, and the road may be temporarily closed at times.

A detour will be in place via Grandy Avenue and Elizabeth Drive.

We ask motorists to use caution in the area and plan accordingly. Thank you for your patience.

DISCRETIONARY NOTICE - 106 TRANS CANADA HIGHWAY, GANDER, NL

Notice is hereby given that the Town Council of Gander has received a request for a discretionary use to construct and occupy two buildings on the site at the above noted address for the purposes of operating two quick service restaurants.
It is noted that this area is zoned Commercial Highway (CH) and Catering (restaurants, etc) is permitted as a Discretionary Use within the CH zone in the Town of Gander Development Regulations.

Anyone wishing to make representation on this matter must do so in writing and the representation must be received by the Engineering Department, Town of Gander, no later than 12:00 noon, Monday, March 23, 2026.

Water Service Interruption: Fraser Rd - March 9, 2026

Please be advised that there will be a water service interruption on Fraser Rd today, March 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This interruption is required to complete a water main repair and will affect civic addresses 38-84 Fraser Rd and 204 Elizabeth Dr.

DISCRETIONARY NOTICE - 14A Jones Place

Notice is hereby given that Council has received an application from J Roberts Counselling to operate a virtual mental health counselling service from 14A Jones Place. Counselling sessions will take place remotely through a secure online video medium. 

It is noted that home occupation is permitted as a “discretionary use” for the zone in which this property is located.

Please be advised that on Monday, February 23, 2026, a road closure and detour will be in effect in the Memorial Drive and Cooper Boulevard area. 

The closure will include the Memorial Drive entrance to Cooper Boulevard and the Cooper Boulevard exit to Memorial Drive. All other entrances and exits at the roundabout will remain open.

Memorial Drive up to Byrd Avenue will be open to local traffic only.

Water service will be shut off from 1B Memorial Drive to 30 Memorial Drive between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Residents and motorists are asked to use alternate routes and plan accordingly. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.

Water Service Interruption – Edinburgh Street (February 4, 2026)

Please be advised that there will be a water service interruption on Edinburgh Street on February 4, 2026, from 9:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

This interruption is required to complete a water main repair and will affect civic addresses 3–47 Edinburgh Street.
